Family May Festival 2025 — Review

On May 1st, 2025, the municipality of Schönefeld once again celebrated its Family May Festival in Alt-Schönefeld. As every year, the day was marked by a combination of traditional customs (Maypole raising, morning pint), sporting competitions (football tournament of SV Schönefeld 1995 e.V., beach volleyball), and a family-oriented children's programme (face painting, hands-on fire brigade, bouncy castle, percussion workshop).

As in previous years, the festival remained deliberately low-threshold: free admission, catering by the clubs, no official stage programme. The mix of village character and proximity to Berlin (S-Bahn connection via BER Airport) makes the festival a well-attended destination not only for Schönefeld residents but also for Berlin families looking for a relaxed May Day in the countryside.
