Overview
In 2025, the Schneefest in Schleid was also celebrated on August 5th — the Feast Day of Mary, Snow gathered pilgrims from the Rhön and all of Thuringia for the Maria Schnee pilgrimage. The Pontifical High Mass, Sacrament Procession, and Pilgrim's Blessing followed the tradition maintained since 1626.
Schneefest 2025 in Schleid
On August 5, 2025, the Maria Schnee Festival once again drew pilgrims to Schleid in the Thuringian Rhön. The Pontifical High Mass in the Maria Schnee Church, a solemn Sacrament Procession through the village, and the Pilgrim's Blessing marked the feast day. The parish community and local associations hosted guests in the festival tent — a day on which the centuries-old pilgrimage tradition of the Diocese of Fulda was kept alive.
