Overview

The 11th edition of the Schmalkalden Wine Festival in late May/early June 2025 brought winemakers from Franconia, Pfalz, Rheinhessen, and Saale-Unstrut to the historic Altmarkt. Three days of wine culture, live music, street food, and family activities made the weekend a meeting point for wine and food enthusiasts from all over Thuringia.

Review 2025

The 11th edition confirmed the format: diverse winemakers from four growing regions, a balanced music program, and a family-oriented Sunday offering. The Altmarkt in front of Schmalkalden's town hall showed its most beautiful early summer side, the weather cooperated, and the city recorded a well-attended weekend. The date for the 12th edition in 2026 (May 15-17) was already publicly announced in 2025.
