The 2025 season of the Schlosspark-Festspiele Bad Lobenstein featured Oscar Wilde's comedy 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. Director Daniel Leistner staged the play again with local amateur actors in the castle park of the New Castle — from late August to mid-September 2025 for a large audience.
'The Importance of Being Earnest' — The 2025 Season
In the 2025 season, 'The Importance of Being Earnest' by Oscar Wilde, one of the most witty social comedies in theatre history, was on the repertoire of the Schlosspark-Festspiele. The English comedy about double identities, engagements, and family secrets perfectly fits the festival's aim to bring great comedy classics to the open-air stage in an entertaining format.

As in previous years, director Daniel Leistner took charge of the direction and dramatic adaptation — performed by amateur actors from Bad Lobenstein and the region. The performances took place in the castle park in front of the New Castle, starting at 8:00 PM and lasting about two hours.
