The »Klingendes Welterbe« castle concerts in the courtyard of Schwerin Castle are a new feature of the 2026 Castle Festival. In previous years, the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin performed at other venues during the summer festival season.

The »Klingendes Welterbe« concert series in the castle courtyard will be held for the first time in 2026. During the 2025 Castle Festival, the concerts by the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin still took place on the established open-air stages of the state capital.

By opening the courtyard to stage music, the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater is expanding the festival's program and linking the musical heritage with Schwerin's architectural UNESCO World Heritage.
