Overview
In 2025, the anniversary festival weekend "450 Years of Augustusburg Castle" was planned and announced. Smaller preparatory events around the castle and an opening city festival paved the way for the grand anniversary from September 16th to 18th, 2026.
Preparation for the 450th Castle Anniversary
Throughout 2025, the program planning for the grand 450th castle anniversary in 2026 in Augustusburg was finalized. The spectacle "Living Procession of Princes" with 44 horses, the historical market in the castle courtyard, and the concerts in the castle church were prepared, participants recruited, and historical costumes made.
The special exhibitions and special openings at the Motorcycle and Carriage Museums for the anniversary weekend were also planned.
