The 71st Schloss-Spiele Hohenlimburg in 2025, under the motto "Mensch sein" (Being Human), invited audiences to the castle courtyard — featuring theatre, concerts, comedy, and children's theatre. The festival reaffirmed its role as one of Westphalia's oldest continuously existing open-air festivals, drawing a broad audience to the castle grounds high above Hagen's south for over two weeks.
Already in 2025, the festival, with the motto "Mensch sein" (Being Human), placed the great questions of human existence at the center of its program. The castle setting, the mix of drama, music, comedy, and children's theatre, and the traditional concept of the Freundeskreis Schloss-Spiele Hohenlimburg once again contributed to full attendance. With 71 editions, the Schloss-Spiele are among the longest-running open-air festivals in Germany.
