Overview

The 2025 edition of the Silesian Christkindelmarkt traditionally took place in December in Görlitz's old town. Around 100 vendors offered specialties from Silesia, Saxony, and Bohemia, the Görlitz Christkind appeared daily on stage, and the Bridge Advent connected the Untermarkt and Zgorzelec across the Altstadtbrücke. The ice rink on the Obermarkt was open from mid-November to early January.

Görlitz Advent Tradition 2025

In 2025, the Silesian Christkindelmarkt once again attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Germany's easternmost city. On the Untermarkt and Obermarkt, around 100 vendors offered Silesian, Saxon, and Bohemian specialties—from Schlesisches Himmelreich and Saxon Stollen to Bohemian Trdelník. The Görlitz Christkind appeared daily in its golden robes, the reading tent with picture book cinema attracted families, and the ice rink at the Obermarkt was also open to non-Christmas visitors.

The Bridge Advent once again connected Görlitz and Zgorzelec across the Altstadtbrücke on the second weekend of Advent—a German-Polish market unparalleled in Europe. Concerts in St. Peter's Church, nativity plays, and the pyramid lighting rounded off the Advent program.
