Overview

The Schlangenfest 2025 took place, as is traditional, on a Sunday in autumn in the Velbert pedestrian zone. Around 50 free hands-on stations, a stage program by Velbert clubs, and the parallel Sunday shopping transformed the city center into a children's paradise.

The Schlangenfest 2025 was organized, as in previous years, by Stadtmarketing Velbert in the Velbert-Mitte pedestrian zone (Friedrichstraße). Admission was free.

Around 50 free hands-on stations — bouncy castles, climbing frames, craft islands, face painting, movement courses — offered children from Velbert and their families a festive Sunday with continuous entertainment. The stage featured performances by Velbert clubs (dance schools, sports clubs, music schools, carnival societies, scouts), and between stage performances, walking acts (clowns, stilt walkers, magicians) paraded through the pedestrian zone. In parallel, Velbert shops opened for Sunday shopping (1 p.m. - 6 p.m.). The 2025 edition confirmed the Schlangenfest's status as the largest children's festival in the Mettmann district.
