Schanzenfest 2025 – Review

In 2025, autonomous scenes, residents, and politically interested Hamburgers gathered again on Sternschanze for a weekend of self-organised street culture. A live stage, speeches, alliance stands, and a dense surrounding programme in the Karoviertel and Schanzenviertel characterised the event. In Hamburg's cityscape, the Schanzenfest is one of the oldest formats that occupies the neighbourhood itself without official event permits – a profile that deliberately distinguishes it from commercial Hamburg festivals.
