Edition 2025 — Zugspitz Ultratrail
The 2025 edition of the Salomon Zugspitz Ultratrail took place in June around Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Seven distances from the Grainau Trail to the 166 km ZUT100 attracted several thousand trail runners from all over the world to the Wetterstein mountains. As part of the UTMB World Series, the race is one of Europe's most prestigious trail events.
Ultratrail 2025 in the Wetterstein Alps
As every year, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympic Ski Stadium transformed into the center of a multi-day trail running festival in June 2025. Athletes from around 50 nations started on the seven distances, the longest – the ZUT100 with 166 km and 8,205 meters of elevation gain – is considered one of the most demanding 100-mile routes in Europe.
The Expo, with around 50 exhibitors from the industry and outdoor world, was open for three days. Accompanying events such as lectures, film screenings, and the athletes' briefing provided the framework for the event. In 2025, too, registration was sold out months in advance.
