Overview

The 51st edition of the Rottenburg Neckar Festival took place from June 27 to 29, 2025, with summer temperatures along the Neckar riverbank. For three days, the market square, Königstraße, and the city park transformed into a festival mile, attracting tens of thousands of visitors. Several live stages, the traditional flea market, punt boat rides, and the children's flea market on Sunday were once again the highlights.

A Successful Edition in 2025

The 51st edition of the Rottenburg Neckar Festival was traditionally opened on Friday evening, June 27, 2025, with the keg tapping ceremony by Mayor Stephanie Bernickel on the market square. In mild summer weather, tens of thousands of guests from the Tübingen region and all over Baden-Württemberg flocked to the bishop's city on the Neckar over the following three days.

2025 Stage Program

Three main stages — Market Square, Schänzle, and Bürgerwache — offered live music late into the night. Cover bands, regional rock ensembles, and brass music groups alternated. The morning pint with brass music on Sunday morning was, as every year, a meeting point for families and older festival-goers.

Flea Market and Craft Market

The large flea market stretched across the Neckar Bridge and the adjoining streets on Saturday and Sunday — a magnet for collectors from all over the southwest. In parallel, the craft market offered handicrafts and regional specialties.

Punt Boat Rides and Water Sports

The punt boat operators from Rottenburg clubs, as every year, navigated between the bridges — a relaxed way to experience the festival from the water. The water sports clubs presented demonstrations with dragon boats and canoes on Saturday afternoon.

Festival Badge and Naldo Connection

The popular €5 festival badge, which also served as a day ticket for the Naldo network, sold out quickly. WTG Rottenburg subsequently reported another increase in visitor numbers — the concept of a freely accessible, club-supported city festival has been successful for over five decades.
