Program and Atmosphere 2025

Market opens early at 7 a.m. with the setup of approx. 200 market stalls. The horse parade at 9 a.m. brought about 100 horses – from small ponies to heavy draft horses – through the city center, presented with detailed commentary on each breed. The ceremony at 10:30 a.m. in the market square was marked by Bavarian State Ministers and local politicians, with the guest speech traditionally being the focus. At noon, prizes were distributed to the horse owners. About 10,000 visitors braved the February weather and filled the streets – with bratwurst, mulled wine, and draft beer, the winter folk festival experience was complete.
