Overview

The 16th Ritter Recken Heldenspiele 2025 once again gathered camp and combat groups from all over Germany at the Ochsenwiese in Tambach-Dietharz. Bridge battles according to Codex Tambach, Asgard falconry, medieval bands, and the nightly fire show attracted thousands of visitors from Thuringia and Central Germany. The medieval association Authentica Castrum Walinvels e. V. once again confirmed the festival's reputation as one of Thuringia's most important historical festivals.

Ritter Recken Heldenspiele 2025

The 16th edition in 2025 continued the proven format: historical camps from various eras, live crafts, bridge battle, Asgard falconry and horse show, bands playing music influenced by the Middle Ages, and a fire show on Saturday evening. The festival at Ochsenwiese is one of Thuringia's most important medieval festivals, attracting an audience ranging from families to lifestyle medieval fans.
