Overview

As every year, the Ringelganstage 2025 offered a three-and-a-half-week program centered around the migration of Brent geese in the North Frisian Wadden Sea. Opening ceremony on Hallig Hooge, followed by around 140 events on the Halligen islands, islands, and the mainland.

In 2025, the Ringelganstage once again attracted thousands of birdwatchers, families, and nature lovers to the UNESCO Halligen Biosphere Reserve. The opening ceremony on Hallig Hooge marked the start of approximately three weeks of programming. Nature excursions with experts, family programs in the mudflats, lectures on bird migration research, culinary evenings with hallig products, and concerts were spread across the Halligen islands of Hooge, Langeneß, and Gröde, as well as Amrum, Föhr, Sylt, and the North Frisian mainland — a festival format that uses the entire Wadden Sea as a shared stage.
