Overview

The 42nd Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon 2025 traditionally took place in May in Duisburg-Wedau — start and finish at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, parallel competitions in Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, Inline Skating, Handbike, and School Marathon. Proven service quality with 18 aid stations on the marathon distance, free public transport on race day, finisher medal, adidas shirt, and König Pilsener at the finish. Marathon Expo on the Saturday before the race at the Arena.

42nd Edition 2025 — Tradition Since 1984

The Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon 2025 marked its 42nd edition, staying true to its character with a flat course, a wide range of disciplines, and an approachable club organization. Organized by Stadtsportbund Duisburg and LC Duisburg, with start and finish at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, featuring six parallel competitions.

The Marathon Expo on the Saturday before the race at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena once again served as a meeting point for athletes and their companions. Numerous personal bests were achieved in the main race — the flat Wedau course continues to live up to its reputation as a "PR Marathon." The accompanying disciplines, Inline Skating, Handbike, and School Marathon, also saw good participation from the region.
