Overview

The 2025 Renntag des Sports took place in July at the Hoppegarten racecourse. A classic race day program with 7-8 horse races, the main race Großer Preis der BBF-Gruppe (Group III), a mascot race, pony rides, and the typical Hoppegarten family atmosphere. Several thousand visitors from Berlin and Brandenburg spent the Sunday at the racecourse — and the Berlin sports scene was prominently represented.

In the summer of 2025, the Renntag des Sports was held in a similar format to 2026 — with the patronage of the Berlin Sports Senator, 7-8 races throughout the day, and the main Group III race. As usual, the mascot race attracted the most attention: Hoppi against a dozen colorful club mascots — a format that caused much laughter in the stands and generated viral images on social media.

Families traditionally used the race day as a Sunday outing to Hoppegarten: picnics on the lawn next to the finish line, bratwurst and Berlin beer, pony rides for the children. The beer garden under the old linden trees was full all day. The main race in the late afternoon provided the sporting climax before the racecourse wound down in the early evening.
