Reichsstadt-Festtage Rothenburg – 750 Years of Imperial City

In 2025, Rothenburg ob der Tauber once again transformed into a lively historical camp on the first weekend of September. The Middle Ages, Renaissance, and the Thirty Years' War met in the alleys and squares, with citizens in historical clothing populating the Herrngasse area.

The torch procession on Friday evening from the Doppelbrücke to the market square, followed by the fire and light show with music at the town hall, remained the atmospheric highlight. The Reichsstadt-Festtage confirmed their status as one of the most important historical city festivals in Middle Franconia, while also preparing for the grand 750th anniversary celebration in 2026.
