Overview

The Elbphilharmonie's Reflektor series continued in 2025 — as each year, featuring a prominent voice in contemporary music as curator. Since its inception, the series has been one of the venue's most distinctive formats, creating multi-day artist residencies that span multiple halls.

Since the opening of the Elbphilharmonie in 2017, Reflektor has developed into one of Germany's most important artist residency formats. It is not just a festival with a star guest, but a model in which an artist takes over the programming and uses the concert hall as their artistic platform for several days.

With the announcement of Rhiannon Giddens for 2026, the series continues its ambition: to invite not only big stars but also artists with a clear programmatic vision, allowing them to make their own musical world visible in Hamburg.
