The 9th edition of the Recklinghäuser Hurz took place in 2025 at the Ruhrfestspielhaus. Hosted by Steffi Neu, with jury president Achim Hagemann and the then-current mayor of Recklinghausen, it followed the established format of Germany's only comedy award named after a Hape Kerkeling sketch — an event that has been regularly selling out in advance for years.

9th Recklinghäuser Hurz 2025

The ninth edition of the Recklinghäuser Hurz was presented in September 2025 at the Ruhrfestspielhaus on Recklinghausen's "Grüner Hügel" (Green Hill). As in previous years, Steffi Neu hosted and Achim Hagemann presided over the jury, joined by the then-mayor of Recklinghausen.

The event once again delivered its signature blend of award ceremony, comedy show, and stage party on a grand stage set — setting the stage for the 2026 anniversary edition. As in prior years, the event sold out quickly during advance sales. The concept, originally stemming from the 1992 Hape Kerkeling/Achim Hagemann sketch, has thus firmly established itself in the Ruhr area's comedy calendar.
