Overview

In 2025, the Quirinus-Oktav again shaped the religious and social life in Neuss. The nine-day festival week in honour of the city patron offered daily pilgrim masses, star pilgrimages, and family events. The shrine procession on the main festival day drew thousands of believers from the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district and the Archdiocese of Cologne through the city centre; the traditional Neuss Vow of 1475 was fulfilled, as every year.

The 2025 edition continued the centuries-old tradition: opening with youth mass and Nightfever in the Quirinusmünster, festival week with daily pilgrim masses, station services, and star pilgrimages, main festival day with pontifical high mass, shrine procession, and pilgrim meal with jazz.

As in previous years, the parish of St. Quirin, in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Cologne, fulfilled the historic Neuss Vow of 1475 – the promise from the Burgundian siege, which Neuss still honours today with two large wax candles. The shrine procession through the city centre remained the emotional highlight for the citizens of Neuss.
