Overview

In 2025, Pirk once again celebrated its traditional Kirwa over three days in July. The raising of the 26-meter-high Kirwa tree, a Zoigl evening, the Kirchweih church service, a morning pint with the Pirker Blechmusi band, and the traditional Austanzen on Sunday evening formed the familiar framework of one of the most vibrant Kirwa traditions in the northern Upper Palatinate.

The Pirker Kirwa 2025 reaffirmed the community's strong tradition of customs. The Kirwaverein Pirk e.V. hosted three days of festivities, with the 26-meter-high Kirwa tree as the centerpiece. Highlights included the Zoigl evening with community-brewed beer, the festive church service with flag consecration, the morning pint program with the Pirker Blechmusi, and the traditional Austanzen on Sunday evening. Due to pandemic-related postponements, the previous head Kirwa couple, Johanna Kick and Raphael Landgraf, served for three years instead of just one season; in 2025, Matthias Zimmerer and Cornelia Gallitzdörfer were elected as the new representative couple.
