Overview
In 2025, numerous pilgrims once again flocked to Maria Birnbaum. Easter Monday with the procession of the Blue Brotherhood, Whit Monday, Assumption of Mary on August 15th, and Immaculate Conception on December 8th marked the highlights. The pilgrimage, managed by the Teutonic Order, welcomed faithful from Bavaria, Swabia, and the entire Diocese of Augsburg.
The 2025 pilgrimage year in Maria Birnbaum followed the traditional liturgical calendar. Easter Monday, Whit Monday, the Assumption of Mary, and the patronal feast of the Seven Sorrows of Mary attracted the largest number of pilgrims.
As in previous years, brothers and sisters of the Teutonic Order managed the spiritual offerings. Group pilgrimages from Upper Bavarian and Swabian parishes arrived with banners and flags, many having done so for generations.
