Overview
The 39th edition of the Piano Festival Husum took place in August 2025 in the Rittersaal of Husum Castle. For a week, pianists from around the world, under the direction of Peter Froundjian, performed rare works of piano literature — live recordings for the Danish label Danacord, as in previous years.
In 2025, the festival once again attracted its international audience to the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein. In the Rittersaal of Husum Castle, a maximum of around 250 listeners were present per concert — the intimate acoustics have been one of the festival's hallmarks for decades. The 2025 season was overshadowed by the death of long-time festival artist Jonathan Powell in December 2025.
