Edition 2025 — Pfingstdampf Selfkantbahn
The 2025 Pfingstdampf, as usual on the Whitsun weekend, took place on the Selfkantbahn. A special timetable with steam locomotives, vintage vehicle exhibitions at the stations, and a market in the engine shed once again brought thousands of railway enthusiasts and families to Gangelt-Schierwaldenrath and Geilenkirchen-Gillrath.
Already in 2025, the Pfingstdampf — as a Whitsun tradition established since 1980 — proved its firm place in the West German railway event calendar. The combination of steam operation, vintage car meet, and market in the engine shed proves successful year after year. The 2026 edition continues the concept with a focus on historic emergency vehicles.
