Overview

The 3rd Performing Arts Season of the Berliner Festspiele ran over four months in the winter of 2025/26 at the Haus an der Schaperstraße. Since its premiere in 2023, the season has established itself as Germany's most important platform for international contemporary performance, with works from Europe, North America, and Asia.

The 2025/26 season also followed the curatorial concept of a season-long event rather than a compact festival: opening in October, further major productions throughout the winter months, and concluding in January. The Haus der Berliner Festspiele, with its 999 seats, hosted works by European and non-European performance giants that had their German premiere in Berlin. The season is a central component of the Berliner Festspiele's performing arts activities and is funded by the federal government with cultural resources.
