Overview

The 13th edition of Passauer Saiten was celebrated in March 2025 at various venues in Passau's old town. Classical, jazz, pop, rock, and world music met over two weeks — as always with programs developed specifically for the festival. Yvonne Zehner and Jürgen Schwenkglenks were once again responsible for the artistic direction.

In 2025, Passauer Saiten maintained its concept: two weeks of concert density, a clear thematic focus on the guitar, but a scope that explores the instrument between classical, jazz, and crossover. Venues in the old town — from churches and halls to intimate venues — offered the acoustic diversity that characterizes the festival.

The format has consolidated over the years, giving Passau a firm place on the map of international guitar festivals. Students from the University of Passau, international audiences from Austria and the Czech Republic, classical concert-goers — everyone finds their place in the program.
