Overview

The 2025 edition of Parksommer brought Parkleuchten and the headphone party back to Witten: new light motifs in the Stadtpark, gastronomic offerings, family picnic, and a silent disco premiere with three DJs. An established event that draws thousands of Witten residents to the green heart of the city every year.

In 2025, Parksommer once again transformed Witten's Stadtpark into a light oasis. The program followed the proven formula — opening on Friday with gastronomy, Parkleuchten until midnight, family picnic on Saturday afternoon, live music at Villa Lohmann, and the silent headphone party with three parallel DJ channels. New light motifs referenced the theme "Cradle of Ruhr Mining" and complemented the floating objects. Again, families came with blankets and picnic baskets, stayed for dusk, and danced until midnight to the silent rhythm of the headphones.

Programme

Program structure as in previous years: Friday Parkleuchten from 8 PM, Saturday family picnic from 3 PM, live concert from 7 PM, and headphone party from 8 PM. Light installations with new motifs on Ruhr area cultural heritage.
