Overview

The Palucca Dance Week Hiddensee 2025 took place from June 29th to July 3rd. Students and lecturers from the Palucca University of Dance Dresden once again used the car-free Baltic Sea island in the Vorpommern-Rügen district as a stage, with performances at the harbour, church, and lake stage.

The 2025 edition continued the tradition of the annual dance week, which has been held since 1997. Following in the footsteps of Gret Palucca, the dancers presented their choreographies at various venues on the island—from Vitte harbour and Kloster island church to the lake stage in Neuendorf. Workshops, encounters with the artists, and an open programme in public spaces once again made the dance week a cultural highlight of the island summer.

Since its inception, the event has been considered a bridge between the renowned Dresden university and the cultural heritage of the artists' island of Hiddensee.
