In 2025, the traditional Easter bonfire at Süderhafen Nordstrand also took place. As every year, locals and guests of the peninsula gathered on Easter Saturday to symbolically burn away the winter and welcome spring in a convivial atmosphere.
The 2025 edition seamlessly continued the long tradition of the Nordstrand Easter bonfire. At Süderhafen, the fire burned as it does every year — an attraction for locals of the peninsula and holidaymakers who were visiting the North Frisian island world during the Easter weekend.
As usual, access was free, and catering on-site ensured refreshments. In the district of Nordfriesland, these Easter bonfires are part of the identity of the coastal villages — not a tourist spectacle, but a lived tradition.
