Overview
In 2025, the Radebeul vintners again opened their vineyards in Oberlößnitz, Niederlößnitz, and Zitzschewig in mid-June. Tastings, walks, and conversations with the vintners characterized the weekend. The Open Vineyard Day has long been one of the most intimate ways to experience Saxon viticulture — and the start of the summer wine festival season in the Elbe region.
Open Vineyard Day — The Tradition
Every year in mid-June, the members of the Weinbaugemeinschaft Radebeul-Zitzschewig e. V. open their vineyards to the public. The tradition dates back to the initiative of the Radebeul vintners, who wanted to make their work transparent and introduce wine lovers to the smallest Saxon wine-growing area. In 2025, the weekend attracted thousands of visitors from Dresden, Saxony, and beyond to the Lößnitz slopes.
2026 is special: Zitzschewig celebrates 660 years since its first documented mention.
