Overview

In September 2025, the farms of Altes Land opened their gates for the Open Farm Day. As every year within the framework of the Altländer Apfelwochen, the weekend combined farm tours, tractor rides, and apple tastings with a family-friendly program. Main attraction: the free Obstparadies-Express between the farms.

The 2025 edition seamlessly continued the tradition. With mostly pleasant late summer weather, visitors from Hamburg and Lower Saxony flocked to the farms — families, food lovers, hobby gardeners.

Around 25 farms participated along the main roads of Altes Land, from Cranz in the east to Jork and Steinkirchen further west. The Obstparadies-Express reliably shuttled between the largest farms, and many farms offered farm cafés, children's programs, and direct sales of juice, apple sparkling wine, and brandies. A typical North German late summer day — down-to-earth, hospitable, good.
