Open Air in the Grugapark — Essen Philharmonic Orchestra

2025 Review

The 2025 Open Air by the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra in the Grugapark took place, as is traditional, at the end of June. The concept — a two-hour program of two classical works, presented on the large concert meadow of the Grugapark and hosted for a broad audience — proved successful once again. The admission price remains traditionally low at around €20–€25, making the format an accessible introduction to classical music, even for families.

The Essen Philharmonic Orchestra performed under its regular season conductor and presented a program from the classical-romantic repertoire. The event remained a collaboration with Grugapark Essen and with sponsorship from GEWOBAU Wohnungsgenossenschaft Essen eG.
