Overview

The Open-Air Cinema Słubice 2025 took place in early July on Plac Bohaterów. Five summer evenings of cross-border cinema in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)–Słubice — part of the Summer of Culture, which has been established for years as the most important German-Polish cultural event on the Oder. Films in original language with subtitles in both languages.

In 2025, the Frankfurt/Słubice Summer of Culture again used Plac Bohaterów for its traditional open-air cinema. Films from Germany, Poland, and other European countries were shown in their original language with subtitles, allowing audiences from both cities to enjoy the evening equally. The event is a firm part of the twin city's summer programme and symbolises the cultural cooperation that has shaped everyday life since the border opened in 2007. Admission was free or at a very low price — the format is deliberately kept accessible.
