Open-Air Cinema Nights Schmellwitz with Lusatian FilmShow — Edition 2025

The 7th edition of the 2025 Open-Air Cinema Nights continued the tradition that has been growing since 2019, confirming the format as the most important summer cultural meeting point in the Cottbus district of Schmellwitz. For four evenings, the Schmellwitz Civic Association transformed Ernst-Mucke-Platz into an open-air cinema with a large LED screen.

The programme included current European film highlights, special silent film screenings, and films with regional connections. During the day, school screenings were held in the "School & Cinema" format for Cottbus schools – an important cultural education offering. Admission was free, as always. The event laid the groundwork for the return of the Lusatian FilmShow in the 8th edition in 2026.
