Overview

The Obertrubach light procession 2025 took place at the beginning of January, once again drawing thousands of pilgrims and onlookers to the village in Franconian Switzerland. In the winterly cool weather, bonfires blazed on the rocky slopes while the solemn procession of the Perpetual Adoration moved through the village centre.

The 2025 light procession continued the centuries-old tradition of Perpetual Adoration in Obertrubach. As usual, hundreds of bonfires on the rocky slopes, wax candles in the windows, light arches, and Bengal flares transformed the village into a winter sea of lights.

Thousands of faithful and visitors from Franconian Switzerland and beyond accompanied the evening procession through the village centre. After the religious part, the evening concluded in Obertrubach's inns with mulled wine and Franconian hospitality.
