Edition 2025 — Soapbox Derby Nuremberg
The 15th edition of the Nuremberg Soapbox Derby took place in autumn 2025 in the castle moat below the Imperial Castle. Hundreds of spectators lined the track from Tiergärtner Tor to Hallertor, and dozens of self-built soapbox cars started. The event combined sporting competition with a neighborhood festival atmosphere in the heart of Nuremberg's old town.
Already for its 15th edition in 2025, it was evident how popular the format has become: families, tourists, and locals crowded the castle moat between the stone bridges and bastions while creative contraptions raced down the ramp. Accompanying food stalls offered Franconian specialties and refreshments, and the awards ceremony followed by live music took place on the main stage. In its 15 years, the event has evolved from an insider event to a firm fixture in Nuremberg's late summer calendar.
