Overview

The Nuremberg Old Town Festival 2025 once again transformed Insel Schütt, Hans-Sachs-Platz, and the Katharinenruine into arguably the most famous festival mile in Middle Franconia. For over two weeks, hundreds of thousands of guests celebrated Franconian tradition, music on several stages, Fishermen's Joust on the Pegnitz, and the Hans Sachs Games. Federweißer, onion cake, and Nuremberg sausages provided the culinary touch.

The Nuremberg Old Town Festival 2025 was, as always, Germany's largest Old Town Festival and one of Bavaria's most important autumn events. The Nuremberg Old Town Friends once again organized the event over more than two weeks on Insel Schütt, Hans-Sachs-Platz, and at the ruins of St. Catherine's Church.

Highlights included the beer tapping ceremony by the Lord Mayor, the traditional Fishermen's Joust on the Pegnitz, the Hans Sachs Games, and a densely packed stage program with over 60 free events. Federweißer and onion cake, sausages, Schäufele, and Steckerlfisch catered to the numerous visitors from all over Middle Franconia, Upper Franconia, and Upper Palatinate. Admission was free, as every year.
