Edition 2025 — North Sea Ultra
The premiere of the North Sea Ultra Sylt took place in May 2025 — a 111 km loop course around the island, with solo and relay formats. Despite windy conditions, numerous runners completed the full distance, establishing the race as a new fixture in the German ultra calendar.
2025 Review
With its inaugural edition in 2025, the North Sea Ultra brought the UTMB World Series format to the North Sea. Participants experienced typical Sylt weather: first sunshine over the dunes, then gusty westerly winds over the Wadden Sea. The twelve aid stations functioned smoothly, and the course, with the highlight of the Ellenbogen peninsula in the north, delighted the finishers. The premiere was considered a success and laid the foundation for the second edition in 2026.
