Overview

The 4th Nördlingen Railway Festival 2025 took place on the Ascension weekend at the Bavarian Railway Museum. Thousands of visitors experienced steam locomotive special excursions through the Nördlinger Ries, an extensive model railway market, and special exhibitions on classic railway technology. The roundhouse was the center of activity and housed numerous operational locomotives.

The 2025 edition continued the tradition of the Nördlingen Railway Festival: the Bavarian Railway Museum opened its doors for four days, showcasing historic steam locomotives in full action and attracting railway enthusiasts from all over Southern Germany. Special excursions, cab rides, and the extensive family program once again made the festival a highlight in the Bavarian event calendar. The collections shown in the roundhouse, as well as the mobile demonstration of historic motive power, offered an authentic experience of Bavarian railway history.
