Overview

The Nachkirmes 2025, like every year, took place on Whit Sunday at the «An der Malzdarre» festival grounds. Four hours of Frühschoppen with «the grill is burning», Bratwurst, Thuringian beer according to the Bavarian Purity Law, and a brass band. The established Pentecost custom followed the Mellinger Kirmes (Kritzekrebsmarkt) celebrated a week earlier, concluding the festival week in Weimarer Land with convivial tradition.

2025 Review

The Nachkirmes Mellingen 2025 continued the centuries-old Frühschoppen tradition on Whit Sunday. For four hours, the grill and bar were open at the Malzdarre festival grounds, and the community gathered after the Kirmes celebrated the previous week for a convivial closing. As usual, the format remained manageable: no carousels, no advertising, no admission control — a genuine village Frühschoppen in the Ilm valley.
