Overview

The 2025 edition of the Nachbarschaftsfest Weißensee took place in early summer 2025 at the community center on Pistoriusstraße 23. A classic small neighborhood festival with puppet theater for children, coffee and cake, meeting spaces, and a relaxed atmosphere. Frei Zeit Haus e.V. continued the annual tradition with this edition, explicitly opening the community center to the immediate neighborhood once a year to facilitate accessible encounters. Free admission, coffee and cake for a donation.

The 2025 edition confirmed the established small format: three hours of programming in the late afternoon, puppet theater for the youngest visitors, coffee, cake, and encounters. The Weißensee Community Center, managed by Frei Zeit Haus e.V., uses the annual festival as a showcase for its community work — exercise classes, music, and creative programs for all ages are made visible through the festival. In the Weißensee district of Pankow, this format is one of the anchors of the neighborhood infrastructure and differs significantly from commercial district festivals in other Berlin boroughs. The positive feedback from the 2025 edition lays the foundation for its direct continuation on June 2, 2026.
