Overview

The Muttergottesprozession Bamberg 2025, like every year, took place on the Sunday after the Feast of the Assumption. 16 Häcker carried the miraculous statue of the Joyful Mother of God in a solemn procession from the Obere Pfarre through the World Heritage Old Town. Accompanied by adoration hours in the festively decorated Parish Church of Our Lady.

Marian Procession 2025

In 2025, the Muttergottesprozession once again confirmed its firm place in the liturgical calendar of the Archdiocese of Bamberg. A solemn Pontifical High Mass, the procession of the 16 Häcker with the miraculous statue through the World Heritage Old Town, and three days of adoration hours in the Obere Pfarre marked the Marian High Feast in Bamberg.

Hundreds of faithful from the Archdiocese of Bamberg, from all over Bavaria, and some from abroad participated in the procession and devotions. The event is embedded in the rich Marian tradition of Upper Franconia and has been celebrated uninterruptedly for over 300 years.
