Overview

The 74th Musikfest ION 2025 took place from June 27 to July 6 in the churches of Nuremberg's Old Town, under the motto "Where is Peace?". Artists included Voces8, Anna Lapwood, and Charly Hübner, as well as "A Night for John Lennon". The London ensemble Voces8 opened the festival on June 27 in St. Sebald. The newly opened Kulturkirche GoHo in the Gostenhof district was the venue for "A Night for John Lennon" (July 4/5). A sing-along concert on July 5 was dedicated to Mozart's Requiem, led by Ingrid Kasper with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.

The 2025 edition was held under the motto "Where is Peace?" and continued the festival's peace-promoting fundamental idea. Voces8 opened on June 27 in St. Sebald, and the newly opened Kulturkirche GoHo in the Gostenhof district hosted "A Night for John Lennon" (July 4/5). A sing-along concert on July 5 was dedicated to Mozart's Requiem, conducted by Ingrid Kasper with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.

As every year since 1951, the festival spanned about ten days, filling the historic churches of the Old Town with sacred music, organ music, and vocal music, confirming its firm place in Nuremberg's cultural calendar.
