Overview

The 36th Musikfest Bremen took place from August 16 to September 6, 2025. Over 40 concerts in Bremen, Bremerhaven, and other venues in the Northwest offered classical music, jazz, contemporary music, and crossover projects.

The 36th Musikfest Bremen opened on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with the traditional 'Eine große Nachtmusik' on the illuminated Bremen Market Square.

In Die Glocke, the French period instrument orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre, conducted by Marc Minkowski, hosted mezzo-soprano Eugenie Joneau, tenor Cyrille Dubois, and baritone Jean-Sebastien Bou. The program included works by Georges Bizet and Jacques Offenbach.

In St. Petri Cathedral, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, conducted by Tonu Kaljuste, performed music by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Arvo Pärt.

Bremen Zwei broadcast the opening live in cooperation with Deutschlandfunk Kultur from four concerts between 7:05 PM and 11:00 PM.
