Overview

The 2025 Museumsfest took place on the weekend at the end of August at the Neanderthal Museum with the proven program: archery, spear-throwing, Stone Age camp, pottery, blacksmithing, archaeological dig. Again over 3,000 visitors, a family festival at one of Germany's most important archaeological sites.

Museumsfest 2025 in the Neandertal

The 2025 edition of the Museumsfest at the Neanderthal Museum, as in previous years, offered the popular Stone Age hands-on program. The Neanderthal Museum Foundation organized the festival day with experienced reenactor educators who ensured authentic and safe instruction in prehistoric techniques at the stations.

The event, as usual, attracted over 3,000 visitors from Düsseldorf, Wuppertal, Mettmann, and the Bergisches Land region. At the end of the festival, the museum confirmed the continuation in 2026 with the established format and similar stations — archery, spear-throwing, Stone Age camp, and family program.
