Overview

The 2025 Residenzwoche took place from October 10 to 19 under the motto 'Aiming High'. Eight concerts in the Residenz, Nymphenburg, and Schleißheim were dedicated, among others, to the 200th anniversary of Ludwig I's accession to the throne, the 500th birthday of Palestrina, and 300 years of the St. John Passion. Two special exhibitions on King Max I Joseph and Ludwig I ran concurrently.

The 2025 Residenzwoche, held from October 10 to 19, was themed 'Aiming High' ('Hoch hinaus') and celebrated two round anniversaries: the 200th anniversary of the accession of King Ludwig I of Bavaria and the 500th birthday of the Renaissance composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.

Eight high-calibre concerts took place in the halls of the Munich Residenz. Opening concert: the Augsburg Cathedral Choirboys with a Palestrina programme. Further highlights: '200 Years of Ludwig I's Accession – A King's Longing' on October 14 in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche and '300 Years of the St. John Passion in its Second Version' on October 16 in the Herkulessaal. The 'Lust.Wandel' promenade concerts were held at the New Palace Schleißheim. Two special exhibitions were dedicated to Max I Joseph and Ludwig I.
