Four-day wine and town festival in the Moselauen of Kues with eleven renowned vintners, culinary delights, music, and fireworks
The Saarallee in Kues offers one of the most beautiful festival backdrops on the Middle Moselle: a tree-lined promenade directly on the Moselle riverbank, which is transformed into a continuous festival mile for the Moselauenfest. The view of the Moselle, the historic old town of Bernkastel on the opposite side, and the summer high water of the vegetation create a unique atmosphere.
From Thursday, July 16th, to Sunday, July 19th, 2026, eleven renowned vintners from the region will present their wines. The selection includes classic Middle Moselle wineries and VDP member estates – the Moselauenfest is also noted in the calendar of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates. Riesling is the focus, complemented by Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines.
Regional restaurateurs complement the wine offerings with culinary highlights: Moselle cuisine, wood-fired tarte flambée, Schiefertaler ham, cheese platters with regional specialties, vegetarian bowls, burgers, and sweet treats. Unlike traditional folk festivals (Volksfeste), the Moselauenfest focuses on a high-quality, diverse food menu.
A central stage provides live music throughout the four festival days. Cover bands, regional acts, and singer-songwriters alternate. The highlight is the grand fireworks display over the Moselle on Saturday evening – a visual spectacle watched by thousands of spectators from both banks.
The Moselauenfest does not charge an entrance fee. Visitors only pay for wine, food, and drinks. This concept makes the festival easily accessible and attracts audiences from the entire region and beyond.
The 2026 edition continues the successful concept. The eleven participating vintners form a carefully curated selection of the best Middle Moselle wineries. The event is noted in the calendar of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP), underscoring its quality standards.
The fireworks display on Saturday evening is a visual highlight of the entire summer on the Middle Moselle and is watched by thousands of spectators from both banks.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
