In 2025, a medieval market already took place in Ratingen's Old Town — as a prelude to the anniversary edition in 2026, which crowns the 750th city anniversary. The market atmosphere with knight fights, bards, and merchant stalls in the historic Old Town was once again an important weekend in Ratingen's event calendar. Based on the experiences of 2025, the concept for 2026 was further developed — with a wooden Ferris wheel and an expanded children's program.
The 2025 edition served as a prelude to the grand anniversary market in 2026 — the concept of the medieval market in Ratingen's Old Town was tested and expanded for the anniversary year. With the wooden Ferris wheel as a new highlight, the expanded children's program section, and full integration into the year-round 750 Years program, 2026 will be the peak of the series. The combination of the city's own history and medieval staging makes the Ratingen version of the medieval market unique — unlike purely commercial medieval events where the city's history plays no role.
