Overview

The Miesbergkirwa 2025 took place on the last weekend of May 2025. On Saturday, the festive parade with the Kirwabaum moved from the fire station up to the Miesberg, where the tree was traditionally erected. On Sunday, the festive church service was held in the Trinity Church, followed by market activities with Oberpfalz delicacies and the Rötzer and Augustiner breweries.

The Miesberg-Kirwa 2025 followed the established two-day format. The traditional Kirwabaum parade started on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the fire station and proceeded up to the Trinity Church on the Miesberg. The erection of the often 25-30 meter tall, debarked spruce tree by the young men of the D'Miesbergler traditional costume association is regularly the most spectacular moment of the weekend — a well-rehearsed choreography of poles, ropes, and muscle power.

On Sunday, worshippers from the entire Naab valley gathered for the festive church service in the pilgrimage church. Afterwards, the celebration continued until the evening — the Miesbergkirwa is one of the most famous Kirchweihen in Oberpfalz and regularly attracts visitors from the entire Schwandorf district.
